See the little button that informs you about the correct way to address yours truly? I received it via email today from my friend John McNutt.
These little buttons (also known as badges or stickers) are usually deployed to let you know where to find something fairly serious and useful on a web site, such as an RSS feed. However, it's also possible to create frivolous buttons; John is well aware that at an early age I took an intense and unreasoning dislike to all diminutive nicknames derived from "Deborah," and he has decided to have some fun with it.
After receiving this delightful button, I spent a few seconds googling around, and found that there is at least one free web tool that enables users to create these buttons quickly and easily. For example, Button Maker gives you plenty of options as to text and colors.
I leave it as a exercise for the nonprofit user to think up customized buttons for his or her web site, but two come to mind immediately: DONATE NOW, and VOLUNTEER NOW.
