If you love TechSoup, you'll love Idealware too.  The mission of the project is to provide "candid reviews of nonprofit software."  What's not to love?

Founded by Laura Quinn, Idealware boasts an amazing collection of highly respected experts in the field, headed up by Michael Stein,* who serves as president of the board.

Many of the reports are published under a Creative Commons license, which makes it very easy if you want to use them as handouts in a training.  I've also found that, in cases where a report is copyrighted in the traditional fashion, Laura is very quick at turning around a request to distribute or modify it.  (Caveat:  She won't necessarily grant you ad hoc permission to do anything you please with a report, but you can talk it over with her.)

Here's a sample of the nonprofit technology topics that Idealware has covered thus far:

I'm impressed by the way these reports start with the assumption that you're searching for options within the budget of a small grassroots organization - and with the suggestions that they include for exploring the capabilities of technology tools that you may already have.
