One of the latest heroes in my nonprofit technology pantheon is Peter Lowy, the publisher of the massnonprofit.org web site.
As readers of my blog know, I've been cherishing a dream that one of these days, we will have a highly interactive web site that will allow everyone in Massachusetts who has a civic project to match up resources and needs. We simply aren't there yet, but we've seen substantial progress in the last year or two with the launching of:
An online statewide civic calendar
An email distribution list for nonprofits and other community-based organizations in the state
The latter is the creation of Peter Lowy, and I heartily applaud it. At last, we can go online to learn about the latest economic trends, policies, funding opportunities, events, and personnel changes that affect our sector in Massachusetts! An email distribution list for nonprofits and other community-based organizations in the state
Now all he needs to do is provide RSS feeds for each of the web site's features. And tagging. And podcasts. Good heavens; I'm getting carried away! As it stands, the massnonprofit.org web site is a resource to be treasured.
