This "Big Day" as you so eloquently put it, was quite simply, an MX change in DNS, and client reconfiguration for the new mail server. MX stands for mail-exchanger, DNS is domain name service, I'm telling you this because it is obvious that you DO NOT KNOW. In the real IT world this takes place late day on Friday and only takes about 15 minutes to accomplish. We probably do 15 of these every week without incident. We had the pleasure of your "company" throughout this process which made things a bit more interesting. Your first lesson here should be NEVER TRY TO COORDINATE OR CONSULT ON SOMETHING YOU ARE IGNORANT ABOUT. lesson 2 is DO NOT BRING AN ENTERPRISE COORDINATION SCHEME TO A NON-ENTERPRISE ENVIRONMENT. and finally, lesson 3 VERY CAREFULLY SELECT (USING SOMEONE WITH REFERRALS) ISP'S , MAIL-HOSTING , AND WEB HOSTING COMPANIES.
