As I recently mentioned in my blog, one of my esteemed clients has been going through a rather hellish time in finding a suitable web and email host.
However, it now looks like Kattare, a company based in Oregon, will be a keeper.
Although the Kattare team declined to give us references, we were able to track down one of their nonprofit customers; he turned out to be a hardcore techie as well as an activist committed to saving the whales, and gave a rave review.
We found that Kattare was able to handle our technical specifications, and very willing to offer a special discount to nonprofit organizations. We also found that phone calls to Kattare's corporate office are actually answered by well-informed human beings, rather than voice mail systems with confusing menus.
So far, so good! The real test will come when we start to cut over from the old host to Kattare, but I'm optimistic.
