Some of the tools are fairly complex, such as a database-driven web site that would enable folks enter their interests, needs, and resources for civic projects and to search for others with complementary interests, needs, and resources.
Complex tools require strategic plans, and a reasonable amount of funding, person-power, time, and energy. But this week, I said to myself, "What the heck. It only takes five minutes of my time - and no money whatsoever - to set up yet one more email distribution list. I'll do it."
I am therefore pleased to announce the launch of Mission-Based Massachusetts, an email distribution list for topics of general interest to people who care about nonprofit, philanthropic, community-based, grassroots, and other mission-based organizations in the Bay State.
It is a moderated, flame-free email distribution list that is open to anyone who is interested in the topic and willing to adhere to the basic principles of civil society. The name was chosen to include folks from all sectors, rather than just nonprofit and philanthropic professionals.
If you'd like to join, you can do so by going to the Mission-Based Massachusetts home page, or by sending a blank email to Mission-Based-Massachusetts-SUBSCRIBE @ yahoogroups.com.
