Mission-Based Massachusetts

I am pleased to announce the launch of Mission-Based Massachusetts, an email distribution list for topics of general interest to people who care about nonprofit, philanthropic, community-based, grassroots, and other mission-based organizations in the Bay State.

It is a moderated, flame-free email distribution list that is open to anyone who is interested in the topic and willing to adhere to the basic principles of civil society.  The name was chosen to include folks from all sectors, rather than just nonprofit and philanthropic professionals...

Telephony to the Rescue, Reuniting Loved Ones

This is a good moment for mission-based organizations to remember that a telephone system is a strategic information and communication technology system:

"...Jane is looking for her missing father. She calls CLO’s toll-free number and enters his usual telephone number. She can then leave a voice message for him or listen to messages from him. When her father calls the toll-free number, he enters his own phone number. He can then leave a message for other callers to hear saying he is safe and how he can be contacted or he can listen to messages left for him..."   more »
