The web log that you are now reading was created and is maintained on the Blogware platform. I chose it because my web host, Netidentity, offered me a free demo.
What I like about this platform:
It's reasonably easy and quick to put together a simple blog, if you're comfortable with a graphical user interface.
If you know a few HTML tags, you have all the coding skills required to use Blogware.
Since it was offered to me as service of my web host, I did not have to go to the trouble of installing Blogware.

Although
it's easy to use once you've familiarized yourself with it, the
taxonomy of components is not particularly intuitive.
Blogware online support does not include a search function.
Responses to email requests for tech support range from about three days to "never, ever."
It's impossible to make a tech support request by telephone, since Netidentity has an unlisted number.
