The Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network (N-TEN) is not only a professional association for nonprofit techies, but also a source of inspiration and collaboration for anyone who cares about the nonprofit/philanthropic sector in the information age.
In recent years, N-TEN has taken on the task of presenting the annual Nonprofit Technology Conference - and it has also created the network of local 501 Tech Clubs and collaborated with TechSoup to offer the free TechFinder service.
I have the highest opinion of Ed Batista, N-TEN's current executive director, and was disconcerted when he announced last fall that he was leaving to pursue other interests. However, I'm pleased to hear that N-TEN's new executive director will be Joe Baker.
Here's what Ami Dar, chair of the N-TEN board and executive director of Idealist.Org, had to say:
In a series of interviews in New York and San Francisco, Joe impressed
the board with his deep understanding of the technological needs in our
sector, and with his passion for doing something about them. We all
look forward to working with Joe in the next few years to help N-TEN
achieve its full potential.
